Thatcher Davis is the main protagonist of The Mandela Catalogue. He is portrayed by Thorne Baker.

What Makes Him a Seinen Hero?[]

  • Heroic/Anti-Heroic: He was a Lieutenant in the Mandela County Police Department, after the death of his partner Sgt. Ruth Weaver, he's determined to find the Alternate that murdered her and avenge her. He also goes out of his way to try to aid and show compassion to Adam Murray even when he's becoming an Alternate.
  • Insightful: Throughout the series Thatcher goes on monologues reflecting about his current situation, the state of Mandela County due to the Alternates, and his guilt over Ruth Weaver's death; "If no one is there to call you crazy, would you ever find out?"
  • Pessimistic: The trauma of Sgt. Weaver's death led Thatcher to a state of depression and with suicidal thoughts.
  • Strong Sense of Willpower: Despite the overwhelming odds against him, mainly that the alternates are in fact biblical demons created by Satan himself, Thatcher doesn't give up on his search for the truth of everything that's happened in Mandela County, seen through his alliance with Dave Lee, the owner of MandelaTech, who would restore damaged tapes with essencial information of the events of the series. We also see this through his confrontation with the Alternate that killed Ruth, when the Alternates laughs triumphantly at him, Thatcher proceeds to shoot it in the face, although it doesn't kill it.
  • Reckless: In Vol. 333, Thatcher and Ruth enter the Murray House to investigate knowing of the high possibility of an Alternate being there and goes out of his way to attempt to help Adam Murray while he's going through his Alternate transformation.
  • Vengeful: His main motive in the series is to find the Alternate that murdered Ruth and kill it.
