Sultan Süleyman Khan is one of two protagonists (alongside Hürrem Sultan) of Magnificent Century Live-Action TV show. He's the tenth Sultan of the Ottoman Empire. He's played by Halit Ergenç.
What Makes Him A Seinen Hero?[]
- Heroic/Anti-Heroic: Makes his empire incredibly powerful and always protects his subjects.
- Insightful: Always does his best for his subjects' well-being.
- Sophisticated/Mature: Unlike most of Magnificent Century characters, Suleyman isn't arrogant at all.
- Pessimistic: Is afraid that Mustafa can betray him.
- Realistic: Ruling an empire forces him to be a realist.
- Strong Sense of Willpower: He never gives up no matter what.
- Pragmatic: While he definitely has good feelings and care towards other people, his good attitude extends only to his subjects and allies.
- Morally Ambiguous: He is paranoid, wrathful, lethal and can be rude towards his enemies (even if they aren't role models themselves).
- Has Anger Issues: When he knows bad news or when someone does something he doesn't like, he becomes very angry.
- Has Killer Instinct And Bloodlust: Killed an envoy, who told him about Ibrahim called himself a Sultan and overall happens to kill people, who aren't dangerous to him or his empire; when his subjects say him that they are ready to die, he says them to kill.
- Lustful: Literally has a harem.
- Tragic Past: His father tried to kill him.
- Has Trust Issues: Killed his own son Mustafa and Mustafa's infant son Mehmet out of paranoia.
- Hard-Boiled: Is considered the best turkish Sultan ever.
- Vengeful: Waged a war against Hungary when Hungarian king Louis (or Lajos) killed an envoy, who was sent by Suleyman to deliver his demands from Louis.
