Individual Characters
- Darkrai: He is a Pure Evil villain who only does heroics in an amnesic state, which lacks too much moral agency.
- Shadow the Hedgehog (Sonic Boom): Same reason as to why he is disallowed as a Shonen Rival as he is NPE.
Disallowed Genres
- Pornographic/shock value works: Every character is a morally bankrupt neutral-to-villainous character with no one standing out as Seinen Heroes.
- While some Seinen Heroes can be lustful to the point of having intercourse with female characters, they at least have a consistent plot that distracts from those scenes.
- Pure Innocence Works: Due to seinen being FAR from innocent, pure innocence works serve as the opposite of it, meaning no one can qualify.
- Reality TV game shows: No matter what the contestants’ personalities are, they cannot qualify due to being real people.

- Family Guy: Almost all of the characters who fit the criteria are too Fake Tragic to qualify.
