What Makes Him a Seinen Hero?[]
- Heroic/Anti-Heroic: He as done many good deeds despite being a gangster such as stopping the corrupt Tenpenny and stopping drug dealers because he knows how drugs can ruin a person's life.
- Realistic: unlike most characters he tried to put his criminal life aside and only got back to it to help his family. He also most likely quit being a gangster again in order to be Madd Dogg's manager so that his family could prosper like he intends.
- Sophisticated/Mature: unlike most characters he's somewhat mature, especially in moments like talking to Sweet about why he's going in there alone during the cutscene where Carl is about to go and fight Big Smoke.
- Cynical: Carl can sometimes questions the intentions of others like Tenpenny.
- Insightful: Carl questions his life as a gangster and as plenty of common sense.
- Apathetic: when it comes down to most of his enemies he shows no remorse in killing them, to be fair most of them do try to kill him first and many deserve it like Tenpenny.
- Has Killer Instinct: being a gangster he shows no problems in killing his enemies.
- Tragic Past: he grow up in a world full of gangster activities with his father abandoning him and having one of his siblings Brain die.
