Asura is the titular main protagonist of Asura's Wrath.
In the English version, he was voiced by Liam O'Brien, while in Japanese, he was voiced by Hiroki Yasumoto.
What Makes Him a Seinen Hero?[]
- Anti-Heroic: Asura has saved the world from various threats, but is mainly motivated by vengeance, due to every one of those threats he defeats having harmed him in the past.
- Apathetic: He possesses no qualms whatsoever with killing, and is generally very ruthless.
- Stoical: Asura rarely demonstrates any other emotions besides anger.
- Realistic: Asura prays to no one and wants no one to pray to him, and he considers every one who wants to rule the world fools who force others to do what they can’t do themselves.
- Pessimistic: Due to his past trauma, Asura rarely sees the good in anything.
- Strong Sense of Willpower: Even when he is cornered, Asura uses his fury and his vengefulness to push ahead, and generally never seeks help from others.
- Has Anger Issues: Asura is well known for his wrath, with it being his Mantra Affinity after all.
- Has Killer Instinct: Asura uses violence as a solution to his problems.
- Has Bloodlust: Asura shows pleasure in killing his enemies and calling them degrading names.
- Reckless: Asura overall reckless and impulsive, and charges head-on against the enemy without a second thought.
- Tragic Past: Asura lost his wife and daughter to his seven comrades, who has him killed and sent to hell, causing the entire story to happen.
- Vengeful: Asura’s main goal is to kill his former comrades for betraying him.
