Akira Fudo, also known by his alter ego of Devilman is the titular protagonist of the Devilman franchise, starting with the original 1972 manga series.
What Makes Him a Seinen Hero?[]
- Heroic/Anti-Heroic: As Devilman, he has not only protected the Makimura family from demons, but the rest of humanity as well.
- Cynical: Akira has grown jaded as a result of being exposed to how unhinged humanity really is.
- Apathetic: Akira has grown to be nonchalant after losing Mira.
- Pessimistic: After losing his girlfriend Miki, Akira becomes very doubtful about being able tp find love for the rest of his life.
- Strong Sense of Willpower: No matter how badly life tries to bring him down, Akira refuses to give up.
- Has Anger Issues: The trauma of losing the love of his life causes Akira to go in a blind rage.
- Has Killer Instinct: Akira kills demons without showing any form of mercy and feels no remorse.
- Has Bloodlust: As a result of being Amon's host, Akira occasionally takes pleasure in killing demons.
- Vengeful: Akira wants to seek revenge against Satan for being responsible for Mika's death.

- Akira is one of the oldest manga Seinen Type Heroes out there, going all the way back in the early 1970's, is arguably categorized as the most influential Seinen character of manga, even predating Guts by over a decade and a half, and many consider Akira to be a major inspirational template on Guts' character creation.
