Since there are 13 Archetype Wikis and only two admins thus far, we need creative minds to help us to not only keep the wikis going, but to help gain a wider audience. We need at least 4 admins to assist us.
Here are the conditions:
An admin must have creative and professional writing skills.
An admin must be organized with the articles and the proposals.
So recently, I feel like the votes for candidates are fairly lackluster. For the most part, they're generally one sentence to upvote or downvote candidates. While this doesn't seem to be an issue when talking about most traditional candidates, we are starting to run into an actual problem when talking about more complex cases. For example, someone unfamiliar with the criteria might upvote an obvious non-qualifer by saying "Yes to [Candidate X] for doing [Action Y]". In order to stop these types of situations from happening, I've decided to require votes to be relatively detailed enough to show that voters actually understand the criteria. For example, instead of just talking about their actions, it is encouraged for Voters to address the actual personality of candidates from now on. While actions are important for a character to count, personality is another important aspect for these archetypes. Any vote that is deemed lackluster will be registered as Invalid if not properly expanded.
I opened a link to it yesterday and it says it was closed. What happened to it?
Can a Seinen Hero be the Ultimate Evil of their work as long as they are a Fallen Non-Hero who happens to be Inconsistently Admirable (as a former hero) as well as Inconsistently Heinous with their Villainous Actions preventing them from being Morally Ambiguous?
Since most Seinen Heroes have edgy personalities, I added this as a Bonus Trait.
Is an Edgelord: A Seinen Hero adopts a provocative and grim attitude
Just like most Shonen Heroes are Mascots with Attitude, Seinen Heroes are Edgelords.
Has black hair and/or an outfit with black/red/blue
As I’ve noticed, many seinen heroes have this trait
Can females be seinen heroes too? I would personally say that Lara Croft and Annabeth Chase both fit the seinen hero archetype, especially considering the fact that they are tomboyish. I would personally say that they should be allowed as long as they fit all the criteria.
Which character on this wiki do you believe in the most evil. My personal pick is Eren Yeager from Attack on Titan.
From now on, no more Archetype Proposals in the Discuss Section. Every proposal needs to be a blog.
The reason for this change is because other wikis are starting to permanently switch to blog posts, and blog posts allow greater quality control of the proposals, and people will not be spammed with notifications of people voting on the proposal. Plus, the editor is allowed to edit the post after 24 hours, which is a good thing to add quality information to it such as after a new episode is released or more information has been found out by the user about the character.
You know, I recently discovered that there are many Seinen Heroes in video games, no matter the genre (action games to crime games to RPGs).
@Elmtree7945 What do you think?
Just like how Spider-Man is the traditional superhero who comes closest to a Stock Shonen Hero, I think Batman is the traditional superhero who comes closest to a Stock Seinen Hero (Wolverine is a close second). In fact, I think many of his other counterparts may also fit.
@Elmtree7945 What do you think of this?
Time to get this done.
https://deathnote.fandom.com/wiki/Soichiro_Yagami
What's The Work?
Death Note is a manga and anime franchise created by Tsugumi Ohba in 2003.
Who Is He?
Soichiro is the heroic secondary antagonist of the series, serving as the father of main protagonist Light.
What Makes Him a Seinen Hero?
Heroic: Soichiro has had a massive part in stopping Kira.
Stoical: Soichiro is rather serious and doesn't tolerate enthusiasm or casualness.
Sophisticated/Mature: Soichiro has a mature and responsible personality, and due to his high-profile job, is very sophisticated.
Strong Sense of Willpower: No matter the odds, Soichiro continues to work on the Kira investigation out of his sense of justice up to his death.
Reckless: Soichiro was willing to make a deal with Ryuk to get the Death Note back from Mello.
Has Trust Issues: Soichiro is unable to trust Mello with the Death Note due to him being a mafia operative, and only gave it to him to get his daughter back.
Verdict
Yes. Although he is pure good, it doesn't mean he can't qualify as he is taken so seriously to the point he can't be Love Exalted.
What is the Work?
The Simpsons is an animated series. It follows a dysfunctional family living in Springfield.
Who is the Candidate?
Homer Simpson is the main protagonist of The Simpsons. He is voiced by Dan Castellaneta.
What Makes Him a Seinen Hero?
Heroic/Anti-Heroic: In The Simpsons Movie, Homer saves Springfield from a bomb alongside Bart.
Cynical: Homer is rather distrustful when it comes to his neighbor Ned Flanders' intentions.
Apathetic: Unless it involves his family or close friends, Homer is rather nonchalant towards the well-being of others.
Realistic: Unlike his daughter Lisa, Homer has no interest in being an idealist and is content with being in the same position.
Pessimistic: Homer has his moments of feeling down on his luck.
Strong Sense of Willpower: While he is rather lazy under normal circumstances, Homer can be determined when he puts his mind and heart into anything he needs to do or passionate about.
Has Anger Issues: Homer is rather hot-headed and violent to the point of choking Bart to discipline him.
Lustful: Homer can sometimes be sex-crazed with his wife Marge.
Tragic Past: When he was a little boy, his mother left him and his father didn't know how to raise him. This led to Homer developing abandonment issues and poor parenting skills.
Vengeful: When someone did him wrong, Homer is quick to seek revenge against them.
Verdict?
Yes. Unlike most adult cartoon protagonists like Peter Griffin and Stan Smith, Homer is not a villain despite his fair share of antagonistic roles in the series.
From the time between the first post and this post, I have proposed one shonen character and discovered several, not only from titles with obvious characters such as AoT, but also classic works such as Dragon Ball. However, I want to hear your voices on any others.
As @Elmtree7945 analyzed many times, most Disney protagonists are Shonen Heroes and almost all Disney Princesses are Shojo Heroes, so I made this post to ask whether there are any more Disney characters who are Seinen Heroes.
